Sales of desktop computers began grow no notebook or netbook is more portable. In fact, predicted the desktop will be ‘irrelevant’ longer used within a period of three years.
This controversial statement is said by the head of Google in Europe Jhon Herlihy. He thinks the desktop ‘Irrelevant’ to be used again in 3 years to come. Because the mobile device will take over the role of the desktop so that people connected with the Internet.
“Within the next three years I believe the desktop will be replaced completely. It is evident now, Japan has begun using smart phones rather than desktops as a place to connect online,” Herlihy said, as quoted by the Telegraph, Friday (5/3/2010).
Added to him, the desktop will still have a use. However, it was limited to heavy work such as producing a video. Laptops will replace desktops for work, while for the multimedia gadget, Herlihy argues, all will lead to iPad and smart mobile phones.
Some surveys also showed that laptops and smart phones sales continue to experience a significant increase, people prefer to use mobile internet via laptop computers and portable devices.
